Ok, it’s official!  I am sick and tired of the national media bashing the Philadelphia 76ers.  They suck, this we all know.  The fact that media outlets are portraying them as the worst scum known to mankind and acting as if they are the first team to purposely “lose” is foolish.

Tanking.  It’s the term that is most used to describe the 76ers.  It is reasonable to assume that every team with a lack of talent of purposely trying to lose to have their shots at Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker, some even Joel Embiid.  Why are people attacking the Sixers….when they aren’t even the worst team in the league?

As we stand today, the Sixers have a record of 15-52, while the league worst Milwaukee Bucks are 13-55.  Yet, no one is running around talking about how horrible the Bucks are “tanking” to get a top pick.  And I’m sure you won’t hear it.  Granted, the Sixers have lost a franchise record 21 games in a row and it’s easy to see they are out-manned on the court, but to act like coach Brett Brown isn’t giving his all or the players aren’t giving their all is plain and simply disrespectful. A.I., Allen, The Answer or simply Allen Iverson is one of the greatest guards the Philadelphia 76ers (Sixers) and NBA has seen.  At 6 feet tall, he went up against all the big men and teams, dominating them most of the time.  He had taken Sixers to regular playoff appearances.  For most people under 30 years old, who never saw Dr J or the 83 winning team, Iverson was the greatest Sixer of their era.

A.I. is the reason I followed the Sixers and  supported them.  He inspired me to try out basketball and made me want to watch him on TV highlights in the UK.  His shirts (jerseys) were everywhere.  Sixers jerseys with Iverson and 3 on the back.  This man was a global brand. (more…)
