Find What You Love and Just Do It

So often we find ourselves unhappy with our daily lives.  We begin to get caught up in the day-to-day, paycheck to paycheck way of life and it can get very depressing.  The first step to living a happy life is to find something that you love to do, do like Nike says and “Just Do It.”  My love for sports has completely transformed the path of my life and opened doors that I never envisioned being accessible.

A few years ago I was unemployed for a stretch of time, lost and confused and having trouble finding a job.  I sat down with a friend of mine and had what we used to call a “brainstorming session,” which consisted of wine, paper and a pen.  We talked about things we loved and wrote down any ideas on how to make money doing it.  I loved sports so I decided to make a sports based social networking website.

The website was doing fine, but things weren’t going the way I had planned.  Then I found a job and started working again so things were moving, but sort of on hold.  I was working in warehousing, busting my butt six to seven days a week.  My schedule was awkward which kept me from being able to spend adequate time with my family and children.  Yes I was making pretty good money, because of the amount of hours I was working, but I was unhappy.  Something had to give.

On the social networking site I started writing articles and I was into twitter a lot and someone noticed.  I then began writing for A-Game Magazine and I really started enjoying what I was doing.  I loved sports originating as an athlete and one who loved to watch the events, but somehow I started to find a love in writing about sports.

My love of sports turned into being a writer for A-Game Magazine as well as contributing to Yahoo and Sports Rantz Magazine.  People began seeing the passion that I have due to that love and now I get to talk (argue) about sports every Saturday on Sports Trap Radio live on UERadioLive.

I’m living a dream and it all started with the love of sports.  Granted, it has been years put in, but I’m happy doing what I do and it’s paying off.  So the best thing that I can say to you is find what you love and just do it.

What do you love?
